Born in Jamaica and raised in Atlanta, Ann Michelle Harris writes romantic suspense and fantasy/speculative fiction with diverse characters and positive social justice themes. She is a lawyer by day and a writer by night with a B.A. in English from Penn and a J.D. from Emory. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, the Atlanta Writers Club, and Georgia Romance Writers. She is a Maggie finalist, a double finalist in the national Pages From the Heart contest, and a finalist for the 2023 Eleanor Taylor Bland Award for emerging crime writers of color from Sisters in Crime.
Her fairytale novel North has been described as “distinctive and compelling” by Kirkus Reviews. Her stories are featured in Midnight & Indigo, 16 Speculative Stories by Black Women Writers; the grifter crime anthology Hook, Line, and Sinker, and the vacation crime anthology Gone Fishin: Crime Takes a Holiday. In addition to fiction, she writes sci-fi/fantasy reviews for the Hugo Award winning Nerds of a Feather. She teaches writing workshops and has been featured in various online publications including Writer Unboxed, Canvas Rebel, Black Fiction Addiction, and others. She is married to her real life meet-cute, has three children, and loves anime, yoga, fancy donuts, and vacations at the beach.
